Comment

PWS root *ḥVṣ̂n- 'lap, bosom' (see for more SED I No. 129; Kogan 2011: 218). From the verb ḫaṣānu ‘to shelter, receive in a friendly way’ (note ḫ corresponding to Sem. *ḥ) (CAD Ḫ 129, AHw. 331). Cf. also Syr. ḥannā 'lap, bosom' (LSyr. 242, SL 469), Arb. ḥiḍn- 'bosom, part beneath the armpit' (Lane 591), Gez. ḥəŝṇ 'bosom, womb, lap' (CDG 226).
