Можно наверное добавить английское hard, который тяжелый, сложный и пр., и есть довольно устойчивое выражение to try hard (to try one's hardest) 'усиленно стараться, изо всех сил пытаться' (как I strongly believe 'Я твердо убежден(а)'). Strong = сильно, твердо. (Виолетта)
