Proto-Uralic *kuńśe 'ant', 'urine; to urinate', 'star'. The noun's meaning of "ant" is likely derived from the meaning "urine". The secretion of formic acid by ants during self-defense is described by the term "urinating." Compare Komi-Permyak кудзавны 'to urinate', 'to emit burning secretions (about ants)'. Or due to the smell of anthills.
